The Production Control module helps you create, manage and inquire into manufacturing work orders. Production Control gives you great flexibility in scheduling, primarily because of its visual impact analysis features.
Production Control allows finite or infinite rescheduling. Orders can be forward scheduled with a start date, or backward scheduled by entering a due date. Material, labour and tool availability are verified before orders are released. Orders for finished goods generate orders for subcomponents with full pegging. Inventory can be relieved manually or automatically by back flushing. Using the Production Control module, managers can re-schedule jobs in response to changing production and sales requirements. Daily variations of available labour and materials can be entered into the system to allow for production rescheduling. In rescheduling jobs DYNAMIC 3i re-allocates resources, without creating conflicts with existing jobs. From Production Control you can print production reports on:
The Work-in-Process report provides an instant overview of continuing jobs. It shows:
Such a report, with its comparison of standard cost to the work-in-process job value, keeps you aware of threats to your profit margin. For customers service representatives this module enhances the ability to respond to internal or external inquiries. By tracking lot and serial numbers the system makes it possible to identify a lot or a job related to a stated product. In a build-to-order environment the system tracks costs to specific jobs and customer numbers.
Through automatic job confirmation (back flushing) the system allocates inventory corresponding to the quantity of materials actually used in production - of particular benefit to process manufacturers. For jobs demanding special attention, such as those with non-standard materials or unusual scheduling, you may make use of the system's manual job entry once a job is confirmed the system allocates bin locations and lot or serial numbers. As the job reaches the bin the DYNAMIC 3i financial files are updated. Throughout the manufacturing process the system produces daily, weekly, or monthly reports showing manufactured output, according to production groups.
The Production Control module interfaces with the Cost Control, General Ledger, Inventory Control, Production Planning, Payroll and Requirements Planning modules.
