Tag Load Utility IN6500

This application will load a standard ASCII comma delimited file formatted in the layout below in preparation to create inventory tag entries into the inventory module via the tag file update IN6800.  If there are errors on the file loaded then these can be viewed and maintained in the exceptions maintenance.  The records in the file loaded are deleted to aid in not allowing the load of the same file twice.

 

Enter the file name or optionally use the ‘Browse’ button to locate the issue file to be loaded.  The default directory is to the standard electronic data interchange directory set up on the global file maintenance GB0100

 

After locating the file to be loaded click on the ‘Load File’ button.

 

Physical Inventory Process using the SDC Tag Load Utility to load outside tags.

 

Note:  Ensure that the Pre-Physical Update (IN4000) is run prior to doing a physical inventory count.

 

  1. Tag Load Utility (IN6500)– This program will load the outside tags into a temporary holding table so that it can be loaded later into the SDC physical inventory tag table.  This program will also validate this outside tags and flag the record accordingly.
  2. Exceptions Maintenance (IN6600)  - This program will show all the outside tags loaded into the temporary holding table that have incorrect or invalid information.   These tags can be corrected through this program.
  3. Tag Load Update (IN6800) – This program will load the outside tags that are currently stored in the temporary holding table that are valid into the SDC physical inventory tag table.  Once the tags are loaded into the SDC physical inventory tag table they can be viewed, manipulated or listed using the Tag Entry and Tag Listing programs.  (See Physical Inventory menu under inventory processing).
  4. Physical Inventory Deviation Report (IN3400) – Running this program is optional.  The program will generate a report that will show the difference between the current inventory and the actual count of inventory.
  5. Physical Inventory Update (IN4400) – This is the last step of the physical inventory process.   This program will update the physical inventory count into the inventory onhand.

File Name

Enter the file name of the file containing the tag record to be loaded.  The filename includes the directory location of the file.

Create Lot Number   

Checking this will enable lot numbers to be created in lotmst table.

Clear Holding Tables

Checking this will clear holding tables.

Browse

Optionally use the ‘Browse’ button to locate the issue file to be loaded. 

Load File

After locating the file to be loaded click on the ‘Load File’ button.
